Prof. Sofia Pais received the Jean Monnet Chair

In July 2014, Jean Monnet Chair was awarded by the European Commission to Professor Sofia Oliveira Pais.

The Jean Monnet program, co-financed by the European Commission, aims to strengthen research and teaching on European integration in European universities. The project presented to the European Commission, called "Current and future challenges of European integration", aims to provide a global and interdisciplinary understanding of the challenges of European integration, promoting excellence in research and teaching in 2 pillars: internal market and competition policy and European citizenship, which are considered priority areas in the EU by their high academic relevance and current policy developments as it is outlined in the 2020 Agenda.
